Kellogg's Class Field Trip Itinerary

- Suzzallo Library on U of W main campus -

When: Wed., Nov. 6th, 2013

Where: UW main campus in Seattle, WA

Who: Mr. Kellogg, Mr. Tupper, Ms. Smith, Parent Volunteers & Mr. Kellogg's Challenge Students

What: Please come prepared by bringing the following items with you

1. Writing Utensils
2. History Notebook
3. Books @ UW Search from Ms. Smith (yellow sheet)
4. Packed lunch or $ for lunch on campus
5. Flash Drive (very important!)
6. $5 in quarters if you plan on copying any sources
7. **If available, please bring electronic devices like a laptop and/or tablet

Why: So that students can access a palithera of sources that only the University of Washington can offer to help students in creating their 2014 NHD exhibit.

Play-by-play of Day's Activities:

1. (7:45am till 8am) Meet in Mr. Tupper's room (#229)
1. We will break up into our carpool groups with one parent for approximately every 3 students, and leaving campus to head to the U of W's main campus.
2. Each parent will be given a packet with directions, instructions and maps.
3. Each student will have a handout with itinerary and instructions for the day.
2. (9am) Arrive at UW and meet at Suzzalo Library 3rd Floor outside graduate reading room
3. (9:05am till 11:15am) Use of different sections of libraries depending on research:
1. General Stacks
2. Periodicals
3. Online Databases
4. Microform/Newspapers
5. Special Collections
6. Department Libraries
7. Government Publications
4. (11:20am approx.) Meet in Husky HUB Student Union Building for lunch
1. Not all food services accept cash, VISA or Mastercard recommended
5. (12pm till 1:45pm) Use of different sections of libraries (see above)
6. (1:50pm) Group picture in front of Suzzalo Library (weather permitting)
7. (1:55pm) Load up vehicles and head back towards CPJH
8. (2:35pm) Arrive back at CPJH
